In 2007 we had an idea, formed a non-profit, and we were on our way to change the world. Out of the gate we received an amazing amount of publicity. There were full page articles published and prime time interviews given, but after the dust settled there was not much in the way of funding. Yet we were unwavering in our goal and decided to start a business that acted like a non-profit— with positive impact being most important.
Our flagship initiative is called Vocab-T. Taking place in school gym classes across the country, Vocab-T is focused on increasing student test scores and their knowledge of key concepts.
On the backs of the shirt we place various concepts that have been academically researched and proven as essential for student to learn. Along with wearing the shirts every day, the students also take a pre and post test which allows us to provide insightful data to schools as to which words and concepts students are learning and/or struggling with.
Through Vocab-T we now help over 400,000 students every day. No longer is a school gym shirt simply something to sweat in. It is now an academic tool that helps re-emphasize difficult concepts, a way to expose students to new vocabulary, and a reminder of character attributes that should be upheld at all times.
We believe that there is nothing more powerful than the aligning of interests. We love to work with schools, non-profits, and impactful organizations because if we know that if we can save you time and money, you can use that to have a greater impact.
