Unified sports is when individuals living with and without disabilities compete as a team. For many individuals living with intellectual disabilities, special olympics is their first opportunity in true competition against others who are competing just as hard.
The special olympians and their partners use the uniforms for multiple sports such as bowling, bocce ball, badminton, soccer, track and field, floorball and volleyball. The uniforms provided to the special olympics teams of Phoenix and Glendale union school districts truly looked amazing!
The special olympics of Arizona wanted their special athletes to feel more…special! They asked us if we could create jerseys and shorts for 7 different schools within the Phoenix and Glendale Arizona area.
2-3 DAYS LATER
We created concept boards that were unique, allowing the athlete to take pride in their school and what they have accomplished.
1 DAY LATER
Each school selected the design they liked the most and we began production.
7-10 DAYS LATER
The athletes competed within their respective sports and showed us all how much more special things are when everyone is included.
